Das Bearish Engulfing besteht aus zwei Kerzen und wird als starkes bearishes Umkehrsignal gedeutet. Die erste Kerze ist bullish und sie muss von der zweiten bearishen Kerze mit dessen Eröffnungs- und Schlusskurs vollständig umschlossen werden. Die Länge der Dochte und Lunten haben bei beiden Kerzen weniger Bedeutung. Das Bearish Engulfing gehört zu den stärksten Trendwendesignalen und soll die Beendigung eines Aufwärtstrends einleiten. Ebenso kann es die Beendigung einer Korrektur im Abwärtstrends einleiten.
