Als Pip wird die kleinste Preisstufe einer Währung bezeichnet und ist eine Abkürzung für „percentage per point“. Die Währungskurse werden in der Regel mit zwei oder vier Nachkommastellen angegeben. Bewegt sich z. B. das Währungspaar Euro/Dollar von 1,0650 auf 1,0651, spricht man von einem Pip. Die Yen Paare hingegen haben nur zwei Nachkommastellen. Hier spricht man bereits von einem Pip, wenn sich z. B. Dollar/Yen von 118,50 auf 118,51 bewegt.
